Welcome to Level 1 of ALP's English Language Arts program – designed for children ages 4 to 6.
Each monthly overview gives you a clear picture of exactly what your child will be working on that month. Use it to follow along, stay engaged, and celebrate every step of the journey.
Level 2 builds on the basics – sharpening reading skills, deepening vocabulary, and introducing structured writing. Your child will move from writing words to writing full, meaningful paragraphs.
At Level 3, children begin to write with real intention. They explore different writing styles, tackle more complex sentences, and start developing the research and analytical skills they'll carry through school.
Level 4 is where children start to write with flair. They learn to replace boring words with vivid ones, explore creative poetry forms, and produce expressive multi-paragraph writing across multiple styles.
Level 5 – Ages 10–12 | Writing with Purpose (copy)
Level 5 raises the bar – introducing academic writing styles, persuasive techniques, and deeper comprehension skills. Children develop the confidence to write for different audiences and purposes.
Level 6 is ALP's most advanced ELA curriculum. Students engage with literature analytically, write across all major composition styles, and develop the skills needed to excel in middle school and beyond.
