About Course

The Advanced Learning Program offers six structured English Language Arts levels – each one carefully designed to build your child’s reading, writing, and language skills without repetition or busywork.

Your child will be encouraged do the worksheets starting at week 1 in a notebook with pencil for reference in the future.

Alphabets – upper and lower case recognition and practice
Beginning and ending consonants – identifying sounds at the start and end of words
Missing letters – building letter recognition and pattern awareness
Rhyming words – developing phonemic awareness and sound patterns
Sight words – learning common words by recognition for faster, fluent reading
Short vowels a, e, and i – understanding and identifying core vowel sounds
Spelling skills with short vowels a, e, and i – applying vowel knowledge in written words
Capitalization and punctuation – learning when to use capital letters and end marks correctly
Reading comprehension – understanding simple texts through guided exercises
And much more – additional activities and exercises woven throughout the month's lessons

Course Content

ELA Level 1 – Monthly Overview
Welcome to Level 1 of ALP's English Language Arts program – designed for children ages 4 to 6. Each monthly overview gives you a clear picture of exactly what your child will be working on that month. Use it to follow along, stay engaged, and celebrate every step of the journey.

ELA Level 2 – Ages 6–8 | Growing Confidence
Level 2 builds on the basics – sharpening reading skills, deepening vocabulary, and introducing structured writing. Your child will move from writing words to writing full, meaningful paragraphs.

Level 3 – Ages 7–9 | Writing Gets Interesting
At Level 3, children begin to write with real intention. They explore different writing styles, tackle more complex sentences, and start developing the research and analytical skills they'll carry through school.

Level 4 – Ages 8–10 | Finding Their Voice
Level 4 is where children start to write with flair. They learn to replace boring words with vivid ones, explore creative poetry forms, and produce expressive multi-paragraph writing across multiple styles.

Level 5 – Ages 10–12 | Writing with Purpose (copy)
Level 5 raises the bar – introducing academic writing styles, persuasive techniques, and deeper comprehension skills. Children develop the confidence to write for different audiences and purposes.

Level 6 – Ages 11–14 | Advanced Language Mastery
Level 6 is ALP's most advanced ELA curriculum. Students engage with literature analytically, write across all major composition styles, and develop the skills needed to excel in middle school and beyond.
